Abstract sun / tree

“Abstract Sun” fabric mural

Abstract Sun was made for a series of free parties we had in our local woods in 96/97. It was suspended from trees above the dancefloor, with fairy lights glowing behind.

At our third forest party so many people attended we were visited by a police helicopter. The light coming down through the trees looked like a freaking UFO! But our location was too remote so they didn’t bother us – until the fourth party when they confiscated our sound system :-(

“18″ poster

Made in 1993 when I was eighteen years old, during my first year at Staffordshire University in Stoke-On-Trent. I had access to a large collection of Cosmopolitan women’s magazines from my housemate, which was the source of most of the images. It was intended as a ceiling mural so can be viewed from any angle. Over the years the picture has been altered as I felt the original was too explicit.

(This picture will soon be available A1/A0 black & white print)
